Terms and Conditions

Auckland Kenpo 5.0 has been operating for almost 20 years and strives to provide a safe, fun, and interactive environment for all students and families. We value fairness and respect and intend for the below Terms and Conditions to set up a few basic rules for our club, which apply to all existing and new students:

Code of Conduct
  • All students and their whānau agree to show respect to their peers, instructors, and families attending the dojo. We are all here to help one another and do not tolerate purposefully hurting or speaking negatively to one another.
  • All students and their whānau agree to not damage any property owned by Auckland Kenpo 5.0 or the premise in which classes are held. Any property damage incurred will be the sole responsibility of the individual who caused it.
  • All property brought onto the premise is the responsibility of the individual and not of Auckland Kenpo 5.0.
  • All students promise to do their best, practice in between classes, and show a dedication to their martial arts learning. We are here to help so please ask questions and make the most of our knowledge!
  • All students and their whānau to have fun in class!
Health and Safety
  • All students and their whānau to exercise the values and rules instilled in class by knowing their own strength and never using it to intentionally hurt others.
  • Students attend class accept that they are physically and mentally capable of doing the exercises and moves required of them. All students who have a medical condition that might impact on their ability to perform the tasks required of them have been cleared by a medical professional and informed Mr Church of any medical/physical considerations.
  • Students agree to wear proper protective gear as necessary which includes, but is not limited to, sparring gear, groin gear, and mouth guards. Finger and toenails to please be kept short to avoid injury. Auckland Kenpo 5.0 is not responsible for any injury caused on the premise(s).
Privacy Policy
  • Auckland Kenpo 5.0 adheres to the Privacy Act 2020 and the relevant 13 Information Privacy Principles.
  • The student information collected by Auckland Kenpo 5.0 will be uploaded to a safe and secure software system for the purpose of class enrolment, communication, attendance tracking, and invoicing. Only school owners of Auckland Kenpo 5.0 have access to this information.
  • Auckland Kenpo 5.0 will never sell your information to a third party or share it without the direct consent of the student- or guardians should they be under 16.
  • We respect if you do not wish for images of yourself, or your children, to be used for marketing purposes for Auckland Kenpo 5.0. Although we do not often use new photos of students for promotional material, students and their whānau agree that photos taken at Auckland Kenpo 5.0 classes or events can be used for business unless stated otherwise – and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Fees and Payments
  • Term fees are invoiced and emailed within the first week of each term and are due in full within 7 days, unless a payment plan has been organised with Auckland Kenpo 5.0 (which we welcome if needed). If a student enrols into class during the term, their invoice will be made pro rata to reflect how many weeks are remaining in the term.
  • Students and their whānau agree that, as a spot is reserved for the entire term, term fees are nonrefundable.
  • Students and their whānau agree that, if the student has planned to be absent for any reason during the term, they are responsible for notifying Auckland Kenpo 5.0 and any decreased term fees are actioned on a case-by-case basis.
  • Merchandise sales made by Auckland Kenpo 5.0, such as gi and sparring gear, are non-refundable outside of the Consumer Guarantee Act.
  • Auckland Kenpo 5.0 can adjust fees as necessary. We value our students so any fee increases will be fair and irregular.
Enrolment
  • Auckland Kenpo 5.0 uses a rolling enrolment system. Although we do not have a strict cancellation policy, students and their whānau agree that cancellations will be notified by email to Auckland Kenpo 5.0 as soon as possible, and before the beginning of the following term (e.g notice of cancellation in the holidays in between Term 1 and 2). As previously noted, if a student cancels partway through a term there are no refunds unless agreed to by Auckland Kenpo 5.0.
